Mitchell Community College offers a wide variety of student-led clubs and organizations designed to enhance your college experience through leadership, service, creativity, and community. Whether you’re pursuing a specific career path, exploring a personal interest, or looking to meet new people, there’s a place for you.

Art Club
The Art Club welcomes students with an interest in the visual arts. Members engage in creative projects, explore different artistic techniques, and participate in art-based events on and off campus.
Campus Impact
Campus Impact is a Christian-based club that encourages spiritual growth, fellowship, and service. Open to students of all faith backgrounds, the club focuses on building a positive community through Bible study, outreach, and shared values.
Cosmetic Arts Society
Open to students in the cosmetology program, this club builds camaraderie among members and promotes leadership through educational, professional, and creative events. Activities may include skill workshops, service projects, and career development opportunities.
Eason Music Club
A welcoming space for music majors and music lovers alike, this club brings students together to celebrate, perform, and explore music. Members can participate in performances, music-related travel, and community service opportunities.
Mitchell Agriculture Club
This club supports students with a passion for agriculture, horticulture, and sustainability. Members explore industry trends, attend educational events, and take part in hands-on projects related to farming and agricultural sciences.
Mitchell Book Club
A community for readers of all genres, the Mitchell Book Club hosts discussions, reading challenges, and campus-wide literacy events. Open to students on both the Statesville and Mooresville campuses.
Mitchell Culinary Club
For students who love food and culinary arts, this club provides a space to share recipes, practice cooking skills, and explore food-related careers. Activities may include cook-offs, demonstrations, and community meals.
National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS)
The NSLS is a national leadership honor society that helps students achieve personal growth, academic success, and career readiness. Members have access to exclusive events, scholarships, leadership training, and networking opportunities.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)
As the official honor society for two-year colleges, PTK recognizes academic excellence and promotes leadership, service, fellowship, and scholarly engagement. Open to eligible students who meet GPA and credit requirements.
S.A.F.E. (Student Alliance for Equality)
S.A.F.E. provides an inclusive and respectful environment for all students, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. The club promotes awareness, advocacy, and support for LGBTQ+ students and allies.
Scrapbook & Fashion Club
Combining creativity and style, this club invites students to express themselves through scrapbooking, fashion design, and DIY projects. Members collaborate on crafts, showcase personal styles, and support one another’s creative passions.
Student Nurses Association (SNA)
Dedicated to students in the nursing program, the SNA promotes professional development and leadership. Members engage in service projects, attend nursing conferences, and prepare for success in the healthcare field.
Tabletop & Teamwork Club
Located on the Mooresville Campus, this club uses games, trivia, and group activities to promote teamwork and connection. Students come together to have fun, make friends, and develop communication skills through interactive play.

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the official liaison between the students and staff of Mitchell Community College. The SGA works to make campus life more enjoyable by encouraging students to have a voice and to become involved in worthwhile campus activities. Be sure to stop by early in the semester to get more connected to student activities and events.

The Student Government Association (SGA) at Mitchell Community College is now accepting applications for the Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 academic year!
SGA plays a vital role in shaping student life at both the Statesville and Mooresville campuses. From planning fun and engaging events (like our Welcome Week celebrations!) to serving as the official liaison between students and staff, SGA members make a real impact on our campus community.
This is your chance to get involved, grow as a leader, and help create an enjoyable campus experience for all students.
Qualifications:
- Must be 17 years or older
- Must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher
Open Positions:
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Senators (4 positions available)
Expectations of SGA Members:
- Attend regular SGA meetings (scheduled based on members’ availability)
- Participate in the planning and execution of the majority of student events
- Serve as a representative voice for the student body
Application Requirements:
- Two letters of recommendation
- Can be from a faculty/staff member at the college, your youth pastor, your boss, or a leader from an organization where you volunteer.
- Letters may be submitted with your application or sent directly to me by the recommender.
- Essay (at least one page) answering the following:
- Why are you interested in applying for the desired position?
- What are you currently involved in on campus?
- What skills do you have to bring to the table?
- What do you hope to gain/learn from this experience?

All materials must be submitted by Friday, September 5 at 4:30 p.m.

What is a Mitchell Ambassador?
A Mitchell Community College Ambassador serves as a representative of the College providing support to Student Services and the Mitchell Community College Endowment for Excellence. Ambassadors assist with campus activities such as campus tours, new student orientation, graduation, endowment fundraisers, and other campus events.
Requirements
Students interested in participating must meet the following criteria
– Have earned and continue to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
– Have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours at Mitchell by the end of Spring 2022.
– Enrolled in at least twelve credit hours at Mitchell Community College with an active for-college-credit program during the fall and spring semesters.
– MUST commit to work Summer, Fall and Spring terms. Must be enrolled in classes Fall and Spring.
– Have a flexible schedule and be available to assist with campus events.
