Career and College Promise
If you are a highly-motivated student, you can earn college credits or workforce credentials while enrolled in high school. There is no charge for tuition!
Early College High School
Early college students can graduate in five years with a high school diploma and up to two years of transferable college credit or workforce credentials. Mitchell operates three very different early college high schools to give Iredell County eighth graders options ranging from science and math to performing arts. There is no charge for tuition or books!
College Transfer
Mitchell students can earn college credits guaranteed to transfer to all University of North Carolina institutions and many of North Carolina’s private colleges and universities. The cost is a fraction of attending a university!
49erNext
49erNext is a program for Mitchell Community College students who plan to transfer to UNC Charlotte to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
Applied Science Career Training
You can build the foundation for a great career by earning a certificate, diploma or associate degree in a technical field. Some applied science programs provide transfer options to four-year colleges and universities.
Short-Term Training Programs
If you want to jump right into the workforce, Mitchell has a range of short-term training options to prepare for entry-level employment and options for further study.
