Streamline Repetitive Tasks Using Macros and Keyboard Shortcuts  Now that you use Excel on a regular basis, let’s automate your repetitive tasks using Macros. Class includes an extensive review of keyboard shortcuts.

Present Your Data Cleanly and Concisely Using PivotTables and Pivot Charts
Many large spreadsheets are useful for the person entering the data, but not for the person reviewing the data. Learn how to create tables and charts that “pivot” with your choices on how to view the data so you can maximize your results.

Target Audience: Experienced Excel users who want to learn new topics and expand existing skills.

  • Prerequisite: Excel Intermediate course or daily working knowledge of Excel. Participants in these classes are expected to know:
    How to Type
Excel-specific vocabulary: cell, row, column, worksheet, workbook, selection, range, array
An understanding of all mouse functions
    Absolute vs. Relative cell references
How to customize the Quick Access toolbar and the Ribbon.

Part 1: Overview of PowerPoint

Let’s face it, HOW you present your data is as important as WHAT you present. Proposals are won and lost based upon communicating your data clearly.
We begin with an overview of PowerPoint: design, colors, outlines, slides, notes, handouts, charts, and graphs. We’ll use transitions and animations to add interest to your presentation. There will be a review of a typical computer and projector setup. You’ll finish with the opportunity to give a short presentation.

Part 2: Excel Data • Static and Dynamic Linking
Now that you know both your Excel data and have a working knowledge of PowerPoint, we examine the pros and cons of using standalone data versus a dynamic link. We create examples of each Excel data link.
Additional design and presentation tips will be covered.
