Counseling Information

Counseling and Wellness Services at Mitchell offers a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where students can focus on their mental health and personal growth. We partner with students to build resilience and well-being through individual counseling, group therapy, workshops, wellness events, and referrals. Services are offered both in-person and remotely, ensuring that every student has access to affirming care and the resources needed to thrive.

Alicia Hyde, LCSW, is here to support Mitchell students as our Behavioral Health Professional. She has over 10 years of experience helping people through counseling, crisis support, and wellness education, using proven approaches like CBT and DBT. Alicia is passionate about promoting mental health, building resilience, and providing caring, one-on-one support. Students can schedule appointments with her on both the Statesville and Mooresville campuses.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8 am – 5 pm (Statesville)
1st Thursdays: 8am – 5pm (Mooresville – Brawley)

We’re here to help bring the best out of students. Our Student Assistance Program (SAP) offers prevention, early intervention, and coping/resilience strategies to help learners get the most out of their education. And with qualified clinicians available 24/7/365, they’ll have an array of therapeutic services ready at a moment’s notice.
