The Student Government Association (SGA) is officially accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year, and we’re looking for passionate students who want to make a difference, meet new people, and help create an unforgettable campus experience.
Whether you’re a returning student or new to Mitchell, SGA is your opportunity to grow as a leader while making a real impact on student life.
As an SGA member, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Plan exciting events and activities for students.
- Be the voice of your fellow Mavericks.
- Build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Make a lasting impact on both the Statesville and Mooresville campuses.
- Gain valuable experience to add to your résumé.
- Make friendships that last well beyond college.
Yes…These Are Paid Leadership Positions!
SGA members receive a semester stipend based on their position and level of involvement.
SGA members:
- Attend regular meetings (weekly or biweekly, depending on schedules).
- Help organize and host campus events.
- Represent the student body.
- Assist during major campus events (typically between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.).
- Serve throughout the academic year.
- Must be 17 years of age or older by July 1.
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Senators (3 positions available)

- Faculty or staff member

- Youth pastor
- Volunteer supervisor
Essay (minimum one page)
