President of Mitchell Community College receives Mooresville Citizen of the Year Award

Mitchell Community College celebrates Dr. Tim Brewer, College President, for being honored as Mooresville’s Citizen of the Year. The award was presented during the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber 2025 community service awards ceremony in early March.

Dr. Brewer was honored for his steadfast dedication to the community, his advocacy for Mooresville’s local businesses, and his extensive service with the MSI Chamber, including his tenure as Board Chair from 2019 to 2021.

Dr. Brewer has served as the President of Mitchell Community College since 2012, overseeing the operations of its campuses in Mooresville and Statesville. In his role, he provides leadership for all aspects of the institution, ensuring that the College fulfills its mission of empowering the futures of its students with inspiring teaching and learning, an educational experience that helps students achieve economic mobility, and creating thriving community partnerships that help support the success of the college’s students.

Dr. Brewer is a committed advocate for community partnerships, as demonstrated by his involvement on several local boards, including the Iredell County Economic Development Corporation, the South Iredell Community Development Corporation, the Statesville Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, and Trustee, Iredell Health. He is also an active member of the North Carolina Community College Presidents Association, where he serves on the Mental Health and Safety Committee. Additionally, Dr. Brewer contributes to the North Carolina Community College System as a member of the Executive Steering Committee for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project.
