Mitchell Community College to celebrate 2025 Graduates

Mitchell Community College will honor its graduates of associate degree, diploma and certificate programs during the annual commencement exercises planned for this week. To accommodate all the College’s graduates and their guests, the curriculum graduation will be held on Saturday, May 17 at the Mooresville Performing Arts Center, located at 160 S. Magnolia St., Mooresville, NC 28115.

Two ceremonies are scheduled: one at 9 a.m. and the other at noon. Dr. James T. Brewer, President of Mitchell Community College, will preside.

This year’s commencement address will be delivered by Molly Grantham—a four-time Emmy Award winner, three-time author, global speaker, and founder of the sold-out “Bet On Yourself Summit.” A graduate of UNC Chapel Hill’s distinguished broadcast journalism program, Grantham launched her on-air career in Raleigh, Lexington (KY), and finally, Charlotte, NC, where she rose to become the main anchor, leading 20 live shows each week. Over her 27-year career, she became one of only two women in the nation to solo anchor a #1-rated main newscast.

Now a motivational force, Grantham draws on her career experience, wit, and resilience to inspire others through her summit and speaking engagements. Her message encourages audiences to overcome challenges and embrace success by learning to “bet on themselves.”
