Career & College Promise (CCP) Dual-Enrollment program students are not eligible to apply for guaranteed admissions programs until they have graduated from high school and enrolled at Mitchell Community College as traditional students.
49erNext
This unique program promotes student success by providing collaborative advising to help students progress toward timely degree completion, along with coordinated financial aid processes, career advising, and opportunities to develop financial literacy skills. In addition to the student services offered at the community college, participants can also benefit from the services and resources available at UNC Charlotte, as detailed on the website. Furthermore, 49erNext students are guaranteed admission to UNC Charlotte upon completing an eligible associate degree with the required GPA.
- Guaranteed admission to UNC Charlotte for 49erNext students who maintain a 2.0 GPA
- Early academic advising and registration for 49erNext students on track to earn their associate degree at their community college
- Workshops for Financial Aid and Career Services
- Collaborative advising from the community college and UNC Charlotte
- 49erID which allows for UNC Charlotte Atkins Library use and discount CATS LYNX light rail and bus and UREC access
- 49er Athletic Events
To be eligible for 49erNext, interested students must:
- Attend a community college that participates in the 49erNext program
- Have earned a high school diploma, or equivalent, before beginning 49erNextÂ
- Be pursuing an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Engineering, Associate in Fine Arts*, Associate in Arts – Teacher Prep*, or Associate in Science – Teacher Prep
- Have earned 30 transferable college credits or fewer, completed or in progress, at the time of participation in the 49erNext program  Â
- For select majors, 15 earned credit hours maximum
- Intend to pursue a major offered at UNC Charlotte, with the exception of Architecture, Art, Art Education, Graphic Design, Music, Nursing, and Respiratory Therapy.   Â
*UNC Charlotte recognizes these degrees as transferable associate degrees and will award a general education waiver. Please consult with your community college academic advisor to determine the best associate degree fit for the most streamlined path to Charlotte.Â
