Sally Vacca received her bachelor’s in studio art from Wake Forest University. Soon after graduating, she attended The Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia, to study illustration. After completing the program, she worked nine years as a freelance illustrator creating art using both traditional and digital media.
But, a lifelong interest in the moving image prompted a return to school. She earned her M.F.A. in film from Massachusetts College of Art and has been making short films and writing screenplays ever since. Her screenplays have advanced to final rounds of consideration in several competitions including the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab and the American Zoetrope Screenwriting Contest. Check out the Department of Art page for recent news on her work as well as the work of all the art faculty.
