Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from Mitchell Community College! 

The 2019 Graduation Ceremony will be held Friday, May 17, 2019, at 7 p.m. on the Circle in front of the Main Building.

Graduation rehearsal will be held on campus on May 17 beginning at 9:30 a.m. on the Circle.

Graduates should report to the first floor of the Vocational Building by 6 pm on Friday, May 17, 2019.  The Ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. sharp.

Following are important things you need to know prior to the ceremony:

  • Cap and gown information will be available beginning in March. The cost of the cap, gown, and tassel set last year was $34.50 with tax. This is for your reference only. The cost may be different for 2019.

  • Class ring information and sales:  This will also be updated closer to the ceremony in the spring.

  • FOR SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS ONLY - If you or a family member need special accommodations, please contact Linda Heiland at (704) 878-3364 so that arrangements can be made prior to the graduation ceremony.  There will be a designated area for the family member and one additional guest.

  • IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER - Guests need to be prepared with raincoats, caps, etc., as the Ceremony will be held on Friday as scheduled.

  • Only if dangerous conditions occur, such as lightning, will the Ceremony be postponed until later in the evening or to the next day - Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10 a.m. with graduates to assemble in the Vocational Building by 9 a.m.  If severe weather occurs on Saturday, the Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 2 p.m. with graduates assembling in the Vocational Building by 1 p.m.

  • Fall 2018 Graduates

    • Graduation will be marked on your official transcript by Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

    • Diploma pickup will begin Monday, January 28, 2019, at the College Reception desk in Eason Student Services Building on the Statesville Campus. Please note, you will need a picture ID in order to pick up your diploma.

  • Spring 2019 Graduates

    • Graduation will be marked on your official transcript by Thursday, May 16, 2019.

    • Diploma pickup will be announced here later in the Spring semester.
