The Marketing and Communications team builds Mitchell Community College’s brand by promoting its impact, building opportunities through information, sharing expertise that supports others work, and empowering diverse audiences to be a part of Mitchell’s vision.

Creative Design

Through digital and print design, we execute marketing campaigns and communicator resources on a wide range of platforms that speak to target audiences and support departmental goals. We are also responsible for building a strong and consistent brand identity through appearance, voice, and messaging.

Event Needs/Support

We support college events by providing branded tablecloths, tents, swag and other marketing materials upon request. We also provide event support through the purchasing of signage. We also supply event technology needs like audio (microphone, speaker) or visual (recording, live streaming) needs upon request.

Executive Communications

We promote the strategic vision and outreach activities of Mitchell's president, to help raise visibility for the office and the university, ensuring key messages/initiatives reach target audiences and advance Mitchell's goals.

Mitchell News & Media Relations

We tell the stories of Mitchell while also work with the media including: drafting, editing and distributing press releases; responding to inquiries and requests for public records, statements, etc.; pitching appropriate research and institutional stories; working on issues management and crisis communication efforts; and providing media relations support and guidance to colleges/units as needed.

Photography/Videography

We offer photography and videography services to our internal stakeholders. These services including faculty/staff headshots, live streaming or recording of college events or event photography.

Website and Social Media

We handle the maintenance and strategy for the college-wide web content management system (CMS) including accessibility compliance, standard and custom template development, maintenance, and implementation. We manage the college's social media channels including Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We work collaboratively with departments, deans, and directors to promote externally focused digital content related to college goals while also engaging with various audiences and organizations within digital spaces.

Haley Jones, Ph.D., Director of Marketing & Communications

Dr. Haley Jones holds the position of Director of Marketing and Communications and Public Information Officer. As a 2014 graduate of Mitchell Community College, Dr. Jones shares her passion for Mitchell with others through methods of strategic storytelling, targeted digital campaigns, and relationship-building.

Dr. Jones received her BA in English and MA in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2016, 2019) and her Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of South Florida in August of 2024.
