The Advising Department
NOTICE: January 7, 2019 is the last day for New Student Advising with a Student Services Advisor for classes beginning on January 14 and 15 of the Spring 2019 Semester.
Mitchell Community College's Advising Department provides the following services to help new students begin working toward their educational and career goals:
Academic advising and success coaching for new students through their second semester and reapplying students with less than two semesters of completed college coursework.
Disability services for students providing documentation proving the need for accommodations.
Assures completion of New Student Orientation.
Coordinates transition for student advisees from first-year Student Services Advisor to Faculty/Progam advisor.
Once new students have completed the admissions' process, they receive a telephone call and an email to schedule their first advising appointment with a Student Service Advisor.

- Advising appointments are required to ensure that you receive the necessary time and attention as you embark on your academic journey.

As a new student at Mitchell Community College, you will have your first academic advising session in the Advising Department in Student Services on the Statesville Campus or the Mooresville Campus. After your admissions process is completed you'll get instructions for setting up your advising appointment and for setting up your WebAdvisor account so that you can manage your educational processes online.
