Tips for New Students

1. Parking on campus – During the first two weeks of school, finding convenient parking can be challenging.  Plan to arrive on campus at least thirty minutes before your first class begins to avoid being late for class during the first week or two of the semester.  Also, there is usually ample parking available behind the Work Force Development Building on Front Street.  Additionally, there is a parking lot on West End Avenue that is a short walk from campus.  Campus maps are available at the Student Services Receptionist Desk in the Student Services Center. Click here to view the campus map.

2. Photo IDs and parking permits – will be available at the Cherry Street Center Monday through Friday. Regular hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.  Call 704-878-4367 for information about evening availability.  Students can get discounts through several businesses in Statesville and Mooresville with their student ID.  Click here to view MCC Student Discounts.

3. Food service – Tom's Big Dogs, a local food vendor, sells hamburgers, hotdogs, French fries and other tasty items on campus Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  He is located in front of the Montgomery Student Union.

Also, there are snack and beverage machines in the Montgomery Student Union on the Main Campus and on the lower level of the Mooresville Center.
