Step 5. Meet with an Academic Advisor

After completing the college application and meeting with an admissions counselor, you will schedule your first semester’s academic advising session in the Advising Center in Student Services on the Historic Main Campus in Statesville or the Mooresville Campus.

In addition to aiding you with scheduling, course selection and course load, academic advisors will encourage you to become self-reliant and to make informed decisions; set realistic goals; and develop critical thinking, learning and life management skills for your current and future needs. If you meet with an academic advisor during open registration, you may also receive training and assistance with self-registration for classes on WebAdvisor.
