Databases 

The Huskins Library offers a range of online databases and journals. Students, faculty, and staff may access these databases 24/7 through our proxy. On your own device or off campus when you click on a database you will need to enter your Mitchell Community College email address and password. You may need a current operating system, browsers and plug-ins to access the databases/journals.

Credo ReferenceAccess images, sound files, animations and videos to hundreds of top quality full-text reference resources covering all major subject areas.

EBSCO -  A powerful online reference system. It offers a variety of proprietary full text databases and popular databases from leading information providers.

Gale Opposing Viewpoints In ContextAccess a range of viewpoints on business/economics, health/medicine, society and culture, energy and environmentalism, law and politics, science and technology, infrastructure and war and diplomacy. Learn more about the current national debate topics.  

LibGuides - Research Guides

Literature Criticism OnlineAccess the largest online collection of literary criticism in the world and find a range of modern and historical views on authors and their works across regions, eras and genres.

Naxos Music LibraryComplete catalogues or selected recordings of over 800 labels. Mitchell has the license for 10 to access. If you cannot access please try at another time.

NC LIVE (North Carolina Libraries for Virtual Education)Resources consisting of full-text magazines, newspaper, and journal articles; historical materials; and reference sources covering a wide range of topics. Off campus you can access using a unique password. Please contact the library to receive the password information.

OVID JournalsAJN- American Journal of Nursing; Med/Surg Insider Supplement; Men in Nursing; Nursing - Scholarly journals of nursing. Search or click on Journals to search individual journals.

Science - AAASPeer reviewed original scientific research articles and reports, science and research news as well as policy forms and perspectives on current topics. There are links to articles in Science Signaling, Science Translational Medicine, Science Immunology, and Science Robotics however Mitchell Community College does not subscribe to those journals.

Social WorkSocial Work is the premier journal of the social work profession. Widely read by practitioners, faculty, and students, it is the official journal of NASW and is provided to all members as a membership benefit.

STAT!RefUtilize an electronic medical database of full-text titles, journals and evidence-based, point-of-care, authoritative resources for allied health, nursing and dental students and faculty. STAT!Ref also provides access to Stedman's Medical Dictionary and MedCalc 3000.
