An earned doctorate from an accredited institution preferred;
Senior-level administrative experience, preferably at a community college or equivalent;
Commitment to the community college philosophy with an appreciation for the liberal arts curriculum.

Effective strategic planning abilities, able to set long- and short- term goals and oversee their effective implementation and success;
Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with local government, business, industry and other community groups, and particularly with funding agencies;
Capacity for proper stewardship of the college endowment;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Qualified to develop and maintain a comprehensive community college of high quality in accordance with State law and regulation and sound public educational theory and practice;
Open to and encouraging of non-traditional learning opportunities;
Demonstrated integrity with strong intuition and professional judgment; and
Ability to work in a complex and political environment with staff, faculty, Board members and community organizations
