Huskins Library

The Learning Resources Center, which became the J.P. and Mildred Huskins Library on June 26, 2000, provides resources and services, which support and enhance the instructional program at Mitchell. Library services include reference assistance, book selection, group or individual library orientation, interlibrary loans, CD-ROM access to magazines and newspaper articles, Internet access, and a coin-operated copier. Audiovisual services include equipment for viewing and listening, video/audiocassette editing and duplication, and telecourse videotapes. The North Carolina Information Highway, located downstairs, is an interactive digital video classroom through which Mitchell has the ability to teach and receive classes in conjunction with over two hundred other available sites.

Our Mission

To support the goals of Mitchell Community College and to provide resources and services to enhance the teaching/learning experiences of students, faculty, staff, and community patrons. We hope that Huskins Library will play an integral part in your time here at Mitchell.

Library Services

Library Services of Huskins Library include reference assistance; book selection; bibliographies, group or individual library orientation; Interlibrary Loan to students, faculty, and staff; reserve materials; college catalogs; and computer/Internet access including web-based magazine and newspaper resources.

Audiovisual Services

Audiovisual Services of Huskins Library include check out and maintenance of audiovisual equipment; checkout of select audiovisual resources, videocassette/audiocassette editing and duplication, facilities and equipment for viewing and listening to AV materials; and study and review videocassette/audiocassette tapes for Mathematics, Accounting, and Spanish classes.
