FAQ’s
What is the Child Care Assistance Program?
It is a program that is funded by the State of North Carolina
to assist students who are attending community colleges
and who are taking curriculum courses with their child
care needs.
Are the funds limited?
Yes. Only a certain amount is given to each community
college and funds are very limited. At MCC, we usually
are able to award approximately 15-20 students.
If I am receiving child care assistance from
the Department of Social Services but I am still left
with a balance, will MCC pay this balance?
Yes, we may pay the remaining parent fee
for qualified students, as long as that fee doesn’t
exceed the maximum eligibility.
Does the child care assistance program at MCC
pay for before and after school day care?
Yes, we may pay for these charges as long
as the student meets the qualifications listed on MCC’s
payment guidelines.
