Motivating Students Series
Students’ motivation to learn is as varied as the number of students. Some are highly motivated and self-directed while others expect their instructors to inspire them. There is no magic wand to wave over the class to challenge and stimulate learning. There are, however, a number of factors to consider that tend to motivate students. They include interest in the subject matter, perception of its usefulness, general desire to achieve, self-confidence and self-esteem, and patience and persistence. Some students may also need the approval of others or challenges to overcome to get motivated. Holiday Luncheon Part 2
On behalf of the College Council I would like to extend our Best Holiday Wishes to everyone. I also would like to thank each and every one of the people who made the Holiday Luncheon last Thursday a success. The fellowship with friends and co-workers was enjoyed along with the wonderful food. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of the people here at this institution, the College Council was able to make a sizeable donation of non-perishable food items as well as a cash donation to charity.
