The bookstore is located in the Montgomery Student Union on the Statesville Campus. Visit us to purchase new and used textbooks, Lab and kits for classes, laptops computers, school supplies, class rings and Mitchell Community College branded merchandise.

Regular Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Extended Hours for Spring 2024 (January 3 – 22): 

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

*Beginning January 2, 2024, any online orders placed during the break will be processed in the order they were received. Please allow several days for this process.

If these times do not fit into your schedule, visit our Virtual Online Buyback at mitchellcc.edu/bookstore/book-buy-backs. Click Virtual SellBack and follow the prompts. Please bring your Mitchell student ID# to buy-backs. It will be required.

Textbook(s):

It is strongly recommended that you attend the first class meeting before you purchase your books, electronics and supplies. Your instructor(s) will distribute course outline(s)/syllabi, which contain the textbook/etext information you need to purchase. Textbooks can be returned for credit, exchange and/or refund during the first ten days of the semester and only with a valid Mitchell Community College Bookstore cash register receipt. No Returns will be allowed when the shrink-wrap has been removed if the book(s) was shrink-wrapped when purchased. If the textbook(s) are purchased for a fast-track or a Continuing Education Course, the textbook(s) can be returned within the first five days of the class start date. If a refund voucher is processed, a refund check will be issued by the Financial Services Office. Please allow four to six weeks for processing.  Partial credit may be granted if the book(s) has been damaged or written in. If a textbook is purchased after the return period, the student has 48 hours to return the book with a valid cash register receipt and may receive full or partial credit.

Etext and Access Code Pins:

Etext and Access Code Pins (pins on receipts and access codes in envelopes) may be refunded within five (5) days from purchase with the original cash register receipt as long as they have not been accessed or the envelope has not been opened.

No Returns on the following items:

Computer Laptops, All Kits, Electronics, eScience / Simulation Labs, Lab Codes/Kits, Software, Clothing, Graduation Apparel (due to COVID) or Supplies.

Last Day for Returns:

The last day for Spring 2024 textbook returns is January 22, 2024, with the original receiptAccess code pin(s) (if not accessed) can only be returned within five (5) days from the original purchase date with the original cash register receipt.

Financial Aid

Financial aid may be used to purchase books and educational supplies during designated dates each semester.  You will need your printed class schedule and a photo ID to complete Bookstore purchases using financial aid.

If you are a sponsored student or depend on a third party to pay for your Bookstore purchases, you will need to present your printed class schedule and a photo ID when you charge books and supplies.

Financial Aid and third-party billing students may charge books and supplies on the following dates for Spring 2024 classes starting January 8, 2024: 

January 3-5

January 8-12

January 16-19

January 22
